Stop guessing if the stranger is real.

youlegit confirms both sides before you share your address. Under a minute, peer-to-peer — no business in the middle.

IDs verified, then deleted within 30 days. Pseudonymous by default.

How it works

Three steps. Under a minute.

Two verified accounts, one shared code, one approval. The details only appear after the recipient says yes.

01

Share your code

Open Get Details, copy your youlegit code, and send it through whatever chat you’re already using. Codes expire in 15 minutes and you can rotate them any time.

02

They send the details

They paste your code into Share Details, fill in what they want to share — pickup address, item, time — and send the request.

03

You approve and view

Tap the request, confirm with Face ID, and the address appears. Yours to view for two hours. No real names exchanged unless you choose to.

Where people use it

Built for the moment before you share where you live.

Anywhere an online conversation is about to become a face-to-face meeting, a check makes the next step easier.

Marketplace pickups

"They want my address to collect the sofa."

Share your pickup address only after the buyer verifies and approves on their end. Both sides are confirmed before anyone shows up.

First dates

"We've only ever talked on an app."

Confirm both sides are verified before sharing where to meet. Pseudonymous by default -- neither party sees the other's real ID.

Home services

"A stranger is about to have a key to my flat."

Both parties verify before the address changes hands. Cleaners, dog-walkers, repairs -- everyone confirmed before arrival.

Flat viewings & sublets

"They want to see the place tonight."

Share the address only after the viewer approves through their verified account. Sublet handoffs without the awkward small talk.

How we handle data

Built so the verification doesn’t become its own problem.

Only what you choose is shared

The default share is name and photo. You can ask for more (full name, age confirmation) — they decide whether to give it.

IDs are verified, then deleted

Their ID document is checked at the moment of verification, then removed within 30 days. We don’t keep a database of IDs.

Verified without revealing yourself

Both parties hold accounts, but neither sees the other’s real name, photo, or ID by default — only that the check passed.

If things get legal, there’s a trail

Pseudonymous in normal use. But every handover leaves a tamper-evident receipt. If something goes wrong, the receipt is what authorities can use to identify the verified person on the other side through proper legal channels.

FAQ

The questions people ask first.

What does the other person actually see about me?+
By default, just your youlegit verification status and a transaction reference -- no real name, no photo, no ID details. The address from your ID, your ID number, and the ID document itself are never shared. (A pickup address you enter into a specific handover is a separate, opt-in action and only goes to that one counterparty after they approve.)
What happens to my ID after the check?+
Your ID document is verified at the moment of the check, then deleted within 30 days. We don't keep a long-term database of IDs. The result of the check (verified or not) stays on your account so you don't have to re-verify every time.
Does the other person need a youlegit account?+
Yes -- both parties need a verified youlegit account. That's what makes the confirmation meaningful: neither side can be anonymous. If someone isn't on youlegit, simply arrange a different way to exchange details.
How is this different from Stripe Identity or Persona?+
Those are excellent tools for businesses to verify their customers. youlegit is for the moment between two people, with no business in the middle. One side shares their youlegit code; the other uses it to send pickup details; the first approves and sees the address -- all peer-to-peer, not routed through a marketplace or platform.
